OEM / ODM

Custom and OEM LED lighting manufacturing

We build under buyer brands. That covers the routine work — your logo, your colour temperature, your packaging — and the harder work: a fitting that does not exist yet, built around a performance target rather than a catalogue page.

The process, step by step

Nothing on this page is unusual — the value is in the sequence. Most OEM problems start because the specification was agreed late or the tooling ownership was never settled.

Step 1

Inquiry

Send the requirement — application, target performance, approximate quantity and destination. A specification table or drawing speeds this up considerably.

Responsible: You
Step 2

Design & mockup

We confirm the closest existing platform, or flag that a new mould is required. For branded work you receive a mockup of the housing logo and packaging artwork.

Responsible: Us, 2-5 days
Step 3

Quotation

Unit price at your quantity tier, tooling cost if applicable, MOQ per SKU, lead time and packing volume. Trade and payment terms are stated per order.

Responsible: Us
Step 4

Sample

Production-representative samples, 2-5 days on existing tooling. Mixed samples across several models are accepted. Measure them — do not just look at them.

Responsible: 2-5 days
Step 5

Order confirmation

Written specification frozen for the exact model, artwork approved against a signed-off sample, and lead time confirmed in writing.

Responsible: Both
Step 6

Mass production

1-2 weeks on existing tooling. Longer where new moulds or custom packaging are involved — stated at quotation stage, not after.

Responsible: 1-2 weeks
Step 7

Quality control

Incoming component checks, in-process inspection and pre-shipment inspection against the frozen specification.

Responsible: Us
Step 8

Shipping

Export packing, documentation and dispatch by sea, air or express, or against your own forwarder account.

Responsible: Both

OEM or ODM — which one applies to your project

ODM (including private label) means the design already exists and we put your brand on it. There is no tooling cost and MOQ stays low, but the product is not exclusive — a competitor can order the same platform.

OEM means you fund the mould and the design. MOQ is higher because the tooling has to be amortised, lead time is longer, but the product is yours and cannot be bought elsewhere.

Most buyers run both: OEM for the products that define their brand, ODM for the long tail behind them. If you are unsure which applies, tell us the target volume and we will say which is cheaper for your case — including when the answer is that tooling is not worth it yet.

Have a specification that does not match a catalogue page?

Send it over. If we can build it from an existing platform we will say so; if it needs a new mould we will tell you what that costs before you commit.
